Had great fun slowly building up this scene, focusing on colour and keeping my brush strokes loose. This little reptilian friend was an absolute joy to model and pose, I hope he gets his lunch.
I chose to use pure geometry rather than alpha to define the leaf shapes, as well as duplicating and flipping the geo to achieve a different texture underneath. I find the way this captures the light very pleasing. Obviously this would be far easier to achieve and more important to optimize in engine using two sided signs and less geo overall.
